INFORMATION FOR TOWN FANS
Town play Bridgwater United in the Women’s National League Southern Premier Division at Fairfax Park, College Way, Bath Road, Bridgwater, TA6 4TZ on Sunday 6 March 2022.
Bridgwater are having a good season, currently 5th in the league and in good form. In the Women's FA Cup, they lost out by just 2-0 to Manchester United, despite having to make several changes to their first team (because a number of players were cup-tied).
The following guide has been produced for Town fans making the trip. For any further information, please contact Elizabeth Edwards, Supporter Liaison Officer at slo@itfc.co.uk or (+44) (0)7968 876504 or on Twitter at @ITFC_SLO.

SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR TOWN FANS
Venue
The game will be played at Fairfax Park in Bridgewater. It is a neat non-league ground, also home to their men’s team, which plays in the Western League Premier Division. There is an elevated seated stand on one side, and a covered standing area opposite. Capacity is 2,500.
Ticket news
Entry to the game is £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £3 for children (under 16). Entrance is by cash or card on the turnstiles.
TRAVELLING TO FAIRFAX PARK
Car
From Ipswich the likely route is the A12 / M25 anticlockwise (towards M11/M1/Stansted Airport/Watford) / M4. Just after passing Bristol, join the M5 to the South-West. The following information is from the Bridgwater United website.
At junction 23 of the M5, take the A39 exit to A38/Bridgwater/Glastonbury/Wells. Take the A39 (Bath Road) into Bridgwater. Continue until left turn into College Way. Continue along College Way (do not turn right into Bridgwater and Albion RFC). At the entrance gates to Bridgwater College turn RIGHT into Bridgwater United FC. You are at Fairfax Park.
Google Maps suggests it will take around 4 hours 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. We generally recommend allowing at least an hour beyond the AA / Google / Sat Nav suggested journey time.
For any Town fans travelling from Fleetwood, make your way to the M6, then head south towards Birmingham. At junction 8, take the M5, all the way to the outskirts of Bridgwater (junction 23), and follow the local instructions as above. This should take around 4 hours 30 minutes, but with the lengthy stretches of roadworks plus the usual nightmare that is traffic around Birmingham, you would be smart to allow at least an extra hour.
Parking
There is a limited amount of matchday parking at the ground. If the stadium car park is full, street parking will be some way away, so do allow plenty of time.
Public Transport
Fairfax Park is around a 15-minute walk from Bridgwater railway station. We are not including detailed rail information for this game as we do not anticipate any Town fans making the trip from Ipswich. If you would like any help or guidance, though, please get in touch and we will be pleased to help.
Bridgwater is on the main line to Devon & Cornwall out of London Paddington, but, with early morning rail replacement between Ipswich and Colchester, it is an awkward and risky journey, since the first service won’t get into Bridgwater until 13:21.
Any fans based in or around Bristol might consider using the train – there are services out of Bristol Temple Meads, taking between 25 minutes (rare!) and 58 minutes. Usefully, one of the fast trains leaves Bridgwater at 1631 after the game, getting you back to Bristol before 1700.
PUBS & FOOD
The nearest pub to the ground is the Sportsman on Bath Road, pretty much next to the ground. It doesn’t seem to offer real ale or food, according to the sites we have checked (but does rate as friendly on google reviews).
Those in search of local real ales and ciders (hey, this is proper cider country) might consider The Cobblestones, 71 Eastover, Bridgwater, TA6 5AP. It is a 17-minute walk (if you are on the train, it is only a minor detour).
