TRAVELLING TO THE HIVE:

Car

The Sat Nav postcode for The Hive Stadium is HA8 6AG.

From Ipswich, it’s a fairly direct drive.   Follow the A12 to the M25 (West), heading towards Stansted / Heathrow.  Stay on the M25 until you reach the A1, and head towards Edgware / London.  At the second roundabout, take the second exit onto the A5109 (Edgware).  The road meanders a bit, and at one point you need to turn right at a roundabout to stay on it, but soon after you cross the A5, you will find the ground on your right, the road by now called Camrose Avenue.

Please keep in touch with traffic news.  With a clear run, it takes a bit under two hours, but it can take up to three hours, depending on traffic.
We generally recommend allowing at least an hour beyond the AA / Google / Sat Nav suggested journey time.  If the ongoing fuel crisis continues through the weekend, there are likely to be significant delays on roads with petrol stations – this has affected the A12 / M25 junction at times.

Parking

Car parking is available at the Hive on a first come, first served basis.  This costs £1 for the day.

Otherwise, there is street parking on Camrose Avenue (one of the entrances to the stadium is on this road).   At the other side of the stadium (pedestrian entrance), Canons Park Tube Station has parking for 150 cars.  There is also street parking on Whitchurch Lane (this is the road Canons Park is on) and some of the side streets – do be aware of parking restrictions though, which vary, it seems, every few metres.

Train

Engineering works on the day of the match means that from Ipswich you go to Colchester and pick up a rail replacement bus to Ingatestone where you pick up a train to Liverpool Street.  On the return journey you will need to do the reverse.  This adds about 45 minutes to an hour on to the journey from/to Ipswich and London Liverpool Street.

Canons Park underground station on the Jubilee Line is a five-minute walk from The Hive Stadium.  From Liverpool Street, take the Metropolitan Line to Finchley Road and cross over the platform to the Jubilee Line.   It should take a bit less than an hour.  You will spot the ground on the right side as the train approaches Canons Park.  (There is also a great view of the Wembley arch from the platform).  From Canons Park, come out of the station and turn left onto Whitchurch Lane.  After 200 feet you will see the pedestrian entrance to The Hive on your right.

Queensbury underground station, also on the Jubilee Line, is around a ten minute walk.  To get to the Hive, turn left out of the station on to Turner Road.  Continue to the end of the road, turn right and you will see the entrance to The Hive across the road.

Edgware Station, on the Northern Line, is about a one mile walk from the ground.  To get to the Northern Line from Liverpool Street, take the Circle or Hammersmith & City or Metropolitan Line to Moorgate.  At Moorgate change to the Northern Line.

Bus from Edgware Station

The 340, 186 and 79 buses all run from Edgware Station to Canons Park.

The 288 and 688 buses run from Edgware Station to Camrose Avenue.

Pubs and food

We have done our best to ensure that the listed pubs will be open and operating without major Covid restrictions.  Please understand that some might limit numbers or insist on small groups and table service.

This isn’t great pub territory.  There is an Irish pub, Moranos, in the row of shops next to Canons Park tube station, but if you are travelling from central London, you might do better to travel via Edgware (directions above), or stop off on the Jubilee Line at Kingsbury, where there are a few options, including a Wetherspoons very near the station.

AT THE GROUND:

The game will be played on Pitch A.  There is one stand, with a roof, which is located behind the goal.

Programmes

London Bees produce an electronic programme which can be read on their website.

Facilities

Toilets and refreshments are both available from the on-site Starbucks/Hive Bar that is built into the main stadium.  Live football is shown in there as well.
